Computer Keyboards 101 

Computers are about as important a part to a computer as you get.  You can have the best computer in the world but without a keyboard you are not able to let the computer know what you think.  The way technology is going this might not be true in the future but for right now if you have a computer you most definitely need a computer keyboard. 

The computer keyboard we know today started as a typewriter which if you are under the age of about 20 probably have only seen in pictures.  The basic layout is exactly the same as on the old typewriter but with technology there are many more features in most of the keyboards today.  Gaming and multi-media computer keyboards have a lot of advanced features that for the average user are not really necessary.

As keyboards have advanced they have added many very helpful features.  With some keyboards we have the ability to access the web or our e-mail with a push of a button.  On some of the gaming computers you have macros which will accomplish a complex series of actions with the same single push of a button.  There are even keyboards that are design from a soft plastic or silicone and can be folded easily for travel.
