Ergonomic Split Keyboard

An ergonomic split keyboard is what most people think of when they think of ergonomic keyboards.  They are keyboard with two or three different typing sections.  Another type is called a vertical ergonomic keyboard and it has keys that go straight up and down and are in two different sections.

There are both fixed and adjustable split keyboards.  The adjustable does give you more flexibility then the fixed ones do but they also may take up more space depending on what angle you need to have them at.

The main benefit you get from a split type ergonomic keyboard is there is a lot less strain on your arms and shoulder.  If you use a computer as much as I use a computer any, and ever, little bit will help. 

Of course to most good things there is a downside, well two in this case.  First is that they tend to be more expensive and second is that they will take up more space then a standard keyboards.  They will usually take some getting used to in order to type as you could with a standard keyboard which is a downside but only a temporary one.

Even though the do have some drawbacks if you do a lot of typing they are all but a necessity.  There are a lot of really great choices on the market today but here are a couple that I found that do a really great job.  The best computer keyboards that are ergonomic split keyboards are:
